Flashjacks firmware updated to Ver 1.7

The Flashjacks cartridge by MRC user Aquijacks has received a firmware update.

V1.7 (14/06/2020) remote or cable update.

The PSG update is reversed because the original PSG of the version prior to 1.6 is more realistic.
The FDSK is now compatible with internal disks pressing "0" key.
Improved error calibration on SD cards. Input data is now calibrated according to the SD response speed.
Increased SD speed by accepting multi-packet functions reading the SD.
Overall increase in the reading rate, especially with DSK files.
Boot mapping bug fixed. Now it does not lose the internal mapping when asked for IDE access (it does not corrupt the MSXDOS).
Optimized Flashjacks consumption. Now consumption is variable and not continuous. Consumption is adapted to the core of the FPGA according to the resources used. Approximately 300 mA max.
Programmed real multi-access to RAM. Now multiple independent resources have access to RAM with MSX as priority.
EVAplayer adaptation to the Flashjacks. This program and the necessary resources are programmed for the Flashjacks. Now it is possible to watch EVA videos in 10 FPS and 12 FPS. (MSX2 and MSX2+ depending on the video).
JacksBoy is programmed. First historic milestone on an 8 bit computer. A complete system is synthesized within the Flashjacks, sharing resources with the MSX and working simultaneously. Jacksboy can run homebrew and other applications. It allows saved games and other extras. Stereo audio, joystick, etc. Compatible with standard MSX2 and higher.
Fixed bug in CALL FDISK. In some cards the actual capacity was not detected the first time. The SD is now slowly booted to its normal idle state.
Added blue led flashing when the SD card cannot be initialized. Very useful when the slot or card is dirty.
Added restorarion of default values in BootMenu.
Double check is done in firmware upgrade.
Fixed stability bugs in accesses to Flashjacks commands in BootMenu.

Sorry I can't supply Flashjacks to everyone.
I would like it very much but I can't.

- First, because I am not a company. My business is not this. Its my hobby.

- Second, because there is no profit here. The cost of the pieces already supposes more than half of the price of the FJ.

- Third, because the time to manufacture each one of them supposes between 8 and 10 hours of sacrifice. Many hours and the process is discontinuous. Each part requires its specific time.

- Fourth, because this is done in a garage, not in an industrial warehouse. I have the right tools to make a high density board like this. I find it even incredible that I can do them.

- And finally, I need to spend time in my life and other things.

For all this, I cannot sell globally. I cannot give a guarantee to people who ask for it in other countries. A simple return is paid directly from my pocket.

I hope you understand.

The weak point of Flashjacks is this, its production.

I understand your reasons perfectly, but have you considered open-sourcing the project so anyone could produce it or even helping you to develop it?

Pardon me but I still don't understand exactly what does this device do! Is it a video player or an MSX compatible handheld device or what? And if it is a video player, then what does it has to do with MSX? I watched the video but I only understand Arabic and English. So I didn't understand anything since most of the video is talking! Please explain in English.

Thank you for your efforts Aquijacks. And thank you for explaining, eventhough you don't need to explain anything.

Do understand that people are really enthousiastic about what you have made up to the point they would like to buy it. That is a great compliment.

Do know that people would pay more if that would make it more viable to make it for others. But it is your decision. And if you change your mind somewhere in the future, I would be interested.

Regardless: Great job on the fine work you did on it and making such a nice device.
