Just a couple of updates on the game. I just finished testing all the improvements and fixes that will go to the final physical cartridge version, and sent a "gold" version to MATRA. So, the final version of the game will be available soon
Thanks for all the feedback received, as I tried to address everything I could! A few things I ran out of space for, but hopefully the final release is a better balanced game, with less bugs, and a bit more enjoyable (including the ability to save your progress via the usual password system).
Also, I just wrote a blog post explaining some of the technical details in the game for anyone who is interested It can be found in my blog as usual: http://santiontanon.blogspot.com/2020/10/quick-technical-overview-of-menace-from.html
It was a great read! And looking forward to the cart :).
Great read! Thanks!
Thanks!! it's always fun to write these things, and wanted to get it written while I still remember
Great blogpost! Looking at code itself can be very hard (and a timedrain), so higher level elaboarations like this is great!
Impressive technical post. Thank you for sharing Santiago!
Thanks for the very interesting and well written posts. The joy you had creating this game splatters all over from it!
Version 1.2 is now available with all the extras that can also be found in the cartridge version (Like a password system)

Thanks tfh!!!
The new version has many updates from the previous one (bug fixes, tweaked behavior of the shop buttons, difficulty adjustment, etc.), but the biggest change as noted by tfh is the password system to save the game and resume later!
Right but, how can we kill the big bosses.., only able to kill the 1st one... is it matter of shooting many times or do they have "weak" points like the 1st one?
They all have weak spots! The second one is tricky, because the weak spot is not obvious in the second transformation (sorry about that!). Just a hint, the easy way to discover is to listen to the sound of the bullets when they impact, if it makes the "enemy hit" sound, that means you hit the spot! If you are using laser/flame thrower, the SFX will be muffled if you use the continuous beam, but with individual bullets you should be able to hear it
Let me know if you need another hint
