For sale in good condition:

  1. Philips VG8235/20, fully operational but slot 1 cover needs some attention - €225
  2. Philios VG8020/00, fully operational but color encoder dis dying (LVA510 iirc) - €40
  3. Philips VG8020/20, fully operational - €65
  4. Philips NMS1510/00, fully operational, comes with PSU and data cable - €40
  5. Philips D6450/60, plays, fast-forward and reverse are fine but when playing tape is not wound back - €20

If you are interested please send me an e-mail. The address is on my profile page.

VG8235:
This came with slot 1 cover in place (as can be seen in the photo with the keyboard test) but it would not twist, I apparently pushed the whole mechanism out of it's holder. This will need some TLC. It does have a working original disk drive and the slot 2 slide.

VG8020/00:
Fully operational except no color (okay green is a color). This indicates the LVA510 color encoder needs replacement.

VG8020/20:
Fully operational

NMS1510/00:
Fully operational

D6450:
Needs some TLC (capstan causing the tape not winding back on the spool during playback)

Maybe it's just me, but I don't understand the usefulness / added value of the term "fully operational"? If someone offers something for sale, I think this is a working / well-functioning object by default (so no need to be mentioned). If there are any defects, these will be mentioned, and it may be stated that the object is not 100% good.

On the other hand, "fully operational" & defects is also used in one and the same sense here. In short, "fully operational" is actually not even 100% good or used consistently in this case.

Operational is functional. A broken color encoder does not make the machine less functional, but obviously it needs mentioning and the new owner will probably want to fix it. Either way I prevent for any assumptions on the other side (not everyone is always as clear on how well a product is working or how beaten up a piece of hardware is, even on this site).

For me operational is not (always) equivalent to functional. Especially not when called "fully" operational. I can imagine several cases in which an item is (fully) operational and/or not (fully) functional. But i suppose thats also a matter of definition. And therefore could also be interpreted in several ways. That's also why, IMO, such text should not belong there.
