I agree with Briqunullus. And I think that the cassette autorun should be disabled by default on an emulator that aims for perfection
Thanks Guys, Ive now managed to load a .cas and save it as a .bas ASCII and can open it in notepad and read the listing.
The F10 , set autorun off tip is a great addition to my knowledge. Do we have a listing of the 'parameters' that can be used in the console ?
BUT the first listing i tried 'DIANA' has some GRAPHICS Characters in the listing and they do not translate correctly into the listing. Any work around for this or is there a setting I'm missing ?
If you don't need to change them they shouldn't cause problems because their ASCII value is the same. So saving them with notepad should work

Actually, the console command in my previous post is a link. If you click it, it opens the openMSX manual page. That list is huge.

This whole exercise in frustration is simply so that I can convert the txt file to pdf and load it into my kindle. This allows me to manually type the listing into my HX-10. Yea I know this is most likely the slowest way to do it. So i do not want to get into editing listings just so that i can then retype them in on the MSX. I just want them readable and the ASCII values shown for the Graphics Characters is unreadable and will be a bit of a inconvenience/frustration when i get to typing the listing in. I had hoped that some setting could be toggled to enable the true visual representation of the graphical characters in the 'ASCII' listing. Its minor but will cause problems. I'm going to have enough issues translating languages, spannish, nederlands, german etc so don't want the added inconvenience of translating ASCII to Graphics Code:/
Haven't tried it yet, but would this MSX truetype font help?

Hey man thx for that. Was sounding a little grumpy earlier. Was getting frustrated. I want to be doing basic not all this other 'insert expletive here'. I'm not sure about the font though. Im so frikin tired of windows you have no idea. Things just don't WORK anymore. Anyway that's a rant for another time. The font will need to be installed in a windows dir ! Can you run me through that as i've gotten a bit rusty. I'm on win 10 btw.
Can you send me one of these ASCII files by email? I want to try do load them directly on my msx using an SD mapper device to see if they will be correctly displayed back.
Or you can try yourself if you have an SD mapper. If you succeed uou won't need amymore to type them on your msx
Right-click and choose "Install for all users".
Sadly you can't use it on MSX Basic files. Long story short, the files need to be converted to unicode encoding first. And such a converter doesn't exist I'm afraid. Damn. Still a great font to have though.
