QUICK Yamaha Keyboard help needed!!

Quick answer needed, please!!

Found Yamaha keyboard YK-10 and seller claims that maybe it can be plugged staight into MSX-AUDIO cartridge...

I have MSX Club West-Friesland´s FM-PAC cartridge and it has just headphones port.

Can I really plug that keyboard to it and use it on whatever MSX machine and then I can play FM sounds with it ????

I guess not...

Is that Yamaha´s keyboard only compatible with Yamaha´s MSXs using Yamaha´s music cartridges?

So it don´t fit into my MSX-MUSIC cartridge, thanks!

So I shall not buy it then.. I don´t have yamaha´s msx...

Then another keyboard question:

I know that Toshiba made it´s own keyboard and if I remember it correctly, it´s cable´s other end has cartridge which can be plugged to MSX?

And that same cartridge had composing software and FM hardware inside, right?

I also remember that Toshiba´s keyboard IS compatible with EVERY msx, right?

Iirc, the Yamaha and Toshiba keyboards use the same connector, but they don't map the keys the same way, so they are not compatible.

Btw, I have both an YK-10 and an YK-01 keyboard, and they aren't that great. Its better to find a MIDI keyboard instead.

standard MSXs dont have MIDI port. Is it possible to plug MIDI keyboard to MSX´s port called "AUDIO" somehow? Or does it need MIDI computer like yamaha?

MIDI keyboard can be also connected to Phillips Music module (MSX-Audio)

The connector on keyboard connectors on MSX-Audio and Yamaha are same, but they are not compatible (I've tested). I don't know how hard it would be to convert one to another...

The key matrix is not the same for the two keyboards, so it may be tricky to convert one to the other.

The Toshiba and Philips keyboards are documented here. But the Yamaha keyboard is not documented on the internet afaik. Can some one help with that?
