soundchip internal mixing levels

i heard that different MSX models have varying mixing levels between soundchips (FM-PAC, SCC, PSG) - are there particular models that anyone knows are especially good at not having bias towards one of the chips (making it louder than the others) - i dont want to buy another MSX computer without doing research about this sort of thing first

ps - i prefer to buy an NTSC model

A ghost in my grey memory tells me the 8245 and the turbo-R are correct. But a resistor could do a miracle, if you're handy with hardware. Otherwise someone like RepairBas could..

Dunno about Turbo-R, but second that for the Philips 8245. IIRC, some Sony MSX2 models like HB-F700 have quite low volume for cartridge sound (so that you have to turn volume way up, and PSG sounds very loud & noisy). And the Philips 8250..8280 models were too sensitive for external sound (so that it distorts easily), combined with a component mounted wrong (see Repair-Bas site for an easy way to fix that). The 8245 has a nice middle ground w/ respect to sound volumes. As said, it's usually a trivial fix if a soldering iron doesn't scare you.
