Effect

Restores the functionality of the PAUSE and COPY buttons, only if the cartridge is in COPY mode. Most common use is for MSX-BASIC programs (when MSX-BASIC is started, the buttons on the cartridge will not work).

It's the same operation as with the function key F10. It switches the BIOS-ROM (page 0) from slot 0 to a patched copy on the RAM within the slot, where the cartridge is inserted. The patched copy is read-only and initialized while booting the system with the cartridge inserted into any slot.

Notes:

  • Because of a programming issue in this cartridge the ROMSLT (&HFFF7) is not updated. Therefore, depending on executed MSX programs, the BIOS patch might loose its effect.
  • A bug prevents to restore the default content of the function key F10 after using of CALL SCHANGE on MSX2 and higher
  • CALL SCHANGE is without any effect when the cartridge is in RAM mode
