Effect

Sets if the built-in firmware must be run (CPC-300) and the Hangul code used at computer starting (CPC-400/400S).

This instruction is available on the Korean MSX2 computers, but only the Daewoo CPC-300 has a built-in firmware, called MSX-TUTOR.

Syntax

SET SYSTEM <BasicMode>,<ScreenDisplay>,<PrinterDisplay>

Parameters

<BasicMode>
0: starts the built-in firmware (Ignored on CPC-400/400S)
1: goes directly to MSX-BASIC

Remarks:

  • On CPC-300, you can quit the MSX-TUTOR by pressing the SELECT key. After a reset, you will go to MSX-BASIC.
  • This parameter modifies actually the setting about the printertype that is stored at #24 in blueMSX (#23 in openMSX) with other settings. The MSX-TUTOR is skipped after booting when this parameter corresponds to No MSX printer. Check SET SCREEN for more infos.

<ScreenDisplay> (CPC-400/400S only)
0: Characters not grouped into blocks
1: Characters grouped into blocks (default state when booting without pressing ESC + SELECT)

<PrinterDisplay> (CPC-400/400S only)
0: Characters not grouped into blocks
1: Characters grouped into blocks (default state when booting without pressing ESC + SELECT)
