Description
The module SKW-01 is a Kanji Word Processor Unit without disk support for MSX1 and higher computers.
It was made and sold by Yamaha and includes
- a 32kB ROM with the application that can be launched with CALL JWP or _JWP
- a 32kB ROM with a Kanji Dictionary
- a 2kB SRAM
- a non-standard 128kB Kanji-ROM (JIS1) with 3564 characters
- a printer connector at the top
- a switch at the top with the indication "MEMORY POWER" (to enable/disable the SRAM)
Extra characters, words and short sentences can be saved.
It is only for a Yamaha or derivative computer (Victor, Sakhr) with 60 pins slot. It does not fit in a regular MSX cartridge slot, without using the UCN-01 Unit Connector.
This same unit was also sold by Sanyo as the KA-MAP-06 package, including a Unit Connector referenced as KA-MAP-07, so it can fit a regular MSX cartridge slot.
